Kabbata (legend) is a prose narrative, which is believed to be of ancient origin. It is a story usually narrated as part of entertainment and social process during drinking sessions, or in celebration among farmers getting together upon the completion of a day’s work, termed as napakyaw, or when elders entertain children.
